A weapon that brings forth our beauty in Christ’s kingdom. It empowers us. It lifts us into heavenly places with the authority we possess in Jesus. It costs us no money.
Our weapon is our praises to our living Jesus Christ!
There is beauty, power and significance in our worship as Jesus is there.
We are encouraged in God’s Word to sing praises to Him. We don’t need a better reason than that, do we?
“Praise the LORD! How good to sing praises to our God! How delightful and how fitting!” (Psalms 147:1, NLT)
When we praise and worship Jesus, we are cultivating an atmosphere for His presence. He loves His name on our lips, whether it is through songs, music, arts, writing, prayer, talking to Him, encouraging others or in whatever way we bring praise to Jesus, He thoroughly enjoys spending His time with us.
Our praises draw us near to God and as we draw near to Him, He draws near to us (James 4:8). God’s presence sets us apart from this world. We respond to God’s glory through our praises and His presence defines who we truly are in Christ.
As we find ourselves in God’s presence through our praises we are standing in the victory we already have in Him.
“Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.” (Psalms 100:2, 4 NLT)
There is power in praising Jesus and it lifts us out of our circumstances. If we are able to praise even when everything arounds us give us no reason to do so, we are setting the table for Jesus to give us our breakthroughs. It is easy to praise Him when things are going well, but when we find ourselves in the dessert, we find direction in Habakkuk 3:17-18:
Though the fig tree does not bud and there is no fruit on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though the flocks disappear from the pen and there are no herds in the stalls, yet I will celebrate in the Lord; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation! (Habakkuk 3:17-18 CSB)
As we bring our praises, we allow ourselves to be cherished by our Daddy God. Praising Him provides a safe and uplifting environment to become aware of His presence. The place and position we are created to walk in.
If we begin each day with a prayer, word or act towards praising God, chances are we will begin to have good days, not because things become easier, but because our focus is turned to Jesus— the One Who has already won every battle we face.
