There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18, NKJV)
Do you find yourself at times being worried about whether you and your loved ones are safe? Maybe you have had concerns about your finances? Or your job situation? Or maybe it is about a relationship?
If you find yourself face to face with fear at times, there is a reality behind it that you may not want to hear but have to: If you fear, you have not yet discovered the full extent of God’s love for you.
God is a Good Father. A Father who loves His children more than they can understand. A Father who is willing to provide more than what His children may be willing to receive. A Father who is willing to heal and bring restoration more than what His children may think they deserve or what they think is possible. A Father who stands by His children when they go through a storm, even when His children blame Him for the storm or turn their backs on Him. A Father who always has good plans for His children even when they cannot see it. And yet, that is who He is and what His heart is for His children.
A Good Father.
When we fear, we are taking our eyes off God and everything Jesus had overcome on the cross and we are giving more weight to our circumstances to direct our lives. We are depending on our own efforts and understanding to bring our breakthroughs instead of trusting God with every little detail about our lives.
When we understand God’s love, when we hold onto His love more than what the eye can see, no danger will be able to take root in our hearts. When we know that God as our Father is providing even when all we see is lack, we will have hope in spite of the drought.
What is your measure of God’s love for you?
There is no limit to God’s love for us, but our own mindsets can limit the reality thereof for ourselves. If we experience any fear, anxiety, worry, anger or any negative emotion, it is time to stand back and take stock of our measure of God’s love for us. His supply of Himself towards us is unlimited but we can limit the extent to which we receive it. So when you do have fear, anxiety or worry surrender those feelings to God and just ask Him to make you aware of His love for you.
If you focus on God’s love for you; fear, anxiety, worry and all their counterparts will find no standing in your life.
I want to pray with you that God will give you a fresh revelation of His love for you because His perfect love casts out fear:
Father God, thank You for being our Daddy, who loves and cherishes us. Pour a fresh revelation of Your love unto us. Let us experience You in an intimate way so that no negative emotion can find standing in our lives. Thank you for being faithful and make Your love for us personal, visible and tangible in these days to come. We pray this in Jesus’s mighty Name, Amen.
