Everyone has a story to tell. Some may seem ordinary, others beyond your imagination, but a story exists in every heart. Each one special and extraordinary in its own way.
We all face our own struggles. What may be big and difficult for me may be an everyday challenge for you and what I may see as ordinary may be a soul-wrenching obstacle for you to overcome. That is what make every story so unique. Each one, no matter the size or depth can be used by God for His divine purpose and to serve as a testimony of His graceful presence in your life.
Overcoming a life-threatening illness, dealing with a great loss or leading an ordinary life that does not fall apart are all noteworthy as none of that would have been possible if it wasn’t for the grace of God. Grace reflecting through the promise of healing in Christ, grace to find hope in the midst of darkness or grace to hold onto Jesus to keep everything together.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV)
Our struggles do not define us, but if we surrender them to Christ, He can bring new meaning and beauty to our pain and struggles as He writes His testimony through our lives. A testimony where He brings healing to our sickness, hope to our despair, purpose to our hopelessness, laughter to our tears, love to our rejection, identity to our insecurities and strength to our weaknesses.
No struggle is beyond God’s reach but a perfect opportunity to write His story through you.
Over the next couple of months I will be sharing testimonies of others who have met God’s grace in the midst of their struggle and found new seasons of purpose and life through Him, because when they were weak, then they were strong in Christ.
