Are you in a season in your life where you are believing God for something? Maybe it is for that perfect job, a financial break-through, a child, a companion or for direction. A waiting season brings along its own challenges, but hidden in the waiting is the key that will help you to wait with an expectation knowing that something good is coming.
The Bible says:
We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. (Romans 3:22 NLT)
We are made right with God. He does not see our shortcomings and all the reasons that will justify not receiving what we are believing for. God sees every reason to give us what is good to us, because He sees us through His beloved Son, Jesus. In Christ, we have His righteousness and in His righteousness, we have access to everything He has – riches, peace, favor, grace, provision, protection, love, purpose, holiness and much more.
Righteousness is like putting on a jacket. When you wear a jacket, it has buttons, pockets, an inner, a collar, etc. You do not have to get them in addition when you buy the jacket; it is part of the jacket that you get to wear. It works the same with our righteousness in Christ. Through faith we put on Jesus’ jacket of righteousness and in it is all the blessings of God, including your provision, protection, purpose, grace and much more.
God reminds us in Matthew 6:33 to use our faith for one thing:
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33 ESV)
So, I would like to challenge you to re-think what you are believing God for, what it is you are exercising your faith for. Instead of having faith for that job, a financial break-through, protection or whatever it may be, have faith in God for His righteousness. Believe God for a fresh revelation of your righteousness in Christ, because as you begin to walk deeper in the knowledge of your right-standing in Christ, you will know that you have protection, provision, peace and whatever it is that you may need. If you use your faith for that one thing: righteousness, ALL things will be added unto you. You will no longer need to exercise your faith for other things as you will know that in Christ you already have it.
What is even more amazing is that God does not only provide for us in proportion to what we think we need, but “… God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NIV) As we know there is no end to God’s riches and therefore there is no end to His supply to us in Christ.
Put on Jesus’ jacket of righteousness and press into Him for a greater revelation of your righteousness in Him and let your life become a testimony of Matthew 6:33 as you see how His love and favor overflow in all aspects of your life.
