It is a new day. It is a new year. It is new season. It is a new opportunity. This is the beauty of the moment we stand in at the beginning of the New Year. So now I want to ask you? What are your plans? What are your goals? What does your heart aim for in this coming year?

Have you made new year’s resolutions, only to come half way through the year and realise you will never be able to make them and will instead put them on the backburner for next year? If that is you, do not be discouraged, because you are in the same boat as many others, but I have a new proposal. A proposal to turn away all the focus from what your plans are and what you want to do and turn it towards what Christ Jesus can do for you.

I would like to challenge you to hold back a little on everything you want to achieve and turn your focus to Jesus. Instead of asking Him to help you with all your plans, ask Him to surprise you. The only commitment required of you is to rest at His feet and spend time with Him, through prayer, in His Word or however you wish to do so.

Forget about your resolutions and await your revelations.

So what is the difference?

A resolution means to make a firm decision to do or not to do something.

A revelation means to be surprised by a previously unknown fact that is disclosed to you or a divine disclosure to a human about something that is relevant to your existence.

A resolution is all about what you decide and do but a revelation is all about what Someone else can do for you.

A revelation of Christ Jesus’ love for you. A revelation of His greater and divine purpose for your life. A revelation of the blessings of goodness, health and prosperity you already have vested in Him. And the list goes on.

How about making this year not so much about yourself but about Jesus. It is not about how much you can do or achieve but how much Jesus can open your eyes to new things, new revelations and a deeper walk in His Word. I can guarantee you a more fulfilled year than ever before. When you walk in the constant revelation of Jesus, you cannot be disappointed.

This does not mean that you will not face any storms and encounter darkness, because you most likely will as the enemy will do anything in his power to stop you from receiving fresh revelations from Christ, but when you hold onto Jesus and not rely on your own strength to succeed, you will not fail.

God tells us about the footprints our lives should leave behind:

But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. (1 Corinthians 2:9 AMPC)

Have you seen the evidence of the above Scripture in your life yet? Have you done greater deeds than Christ Himself? If not, hold onto Him. Spend every waking moment in His presence. Take Him with you wherever you go and let His Holy Spirit reveal the deepest treasures and power of God’s Word through your life.

Let 2017 be a year of Christ revelations. You will be amazed.
