Have you ever found yourself in a position where you wished you had more time? Hoping for just a few extra minutes a day to do that one thing that will lift up your soul?

Recently, I promised myself I am going to spend every day in God’s Word even if it is just for a few minutes. Reading and studying God’s Word was going to be my priority.

Together with that promise, I took on a 31 days challenge to write 500 words a day, which I shared on the blog. But a promise and a challenge that seemed like a daunting prospect to take on at this point in my life, turned out to be the best favor I could have done myself. …time is never going to find me, I have to find it…

How do one do that?

It starts with the One who holds time in His hand – Jesus. He is outside of time. A minute to me is like a year to Him and a year to me is like a minute to Him. When I began to make Jesus my first priority, whatever I had to do each day happened. Things did not necessarily happen how and when I thought it should, but it happened. I still felt a little overwhelmed by everything I thought I had to do, but I realised, I am not the one in control. Jesus is. He always was, is and will be the one that writes my story and will continue to do so.

There is breakthroughs and power in your time with Jesus.

It might not always feel that way, especially when life feels a little misterious and overwhelming. The enemy will do everything he can to stop you from finding those precious moments with Jesus, but if you can find yourself at Jesus’ feet and just rest with Him, His plan and timing will never disappoint you. Just see it through.

So how to make the most of the little time you have?

When life happens and it feels like you are never going to get everything done, remember Jesus. When circumstances or people overhelm you, remember Jesus. Everything you go through, He endured before. He had a lot to do in His time on earth and nothing remained undone and now He continues to do His good work through us. Just let Him do it.

Let go of your ideas of how and when things should happen and surrender EVERYTHING to Jesus. Whatever needs to happen will happen.

Time will never come looking for you, but when you find Jesus and let Him determine the course of your day, you will find the time for what He needs you to find the time for…today and every other day from here.

Embrace every minute as there is a time for everything, maybe right now you just need to sit back for a moment and embrace the miracle of being able to take your next breath.
