Today I would like to remind all of us of Who is the one we should adore.
We all have our favourite—pastor, cell leaders, writer, prophet, etc., but Who is the one that gives all of them the message they share…Jesus! It is easy to step into the trap where we admire the messenger instead of the One who originally gave the message.
No Word of God will be shared if He does not give it. People may give opinions, but when it comes to the Word that penetrates our deepest part at the most desired moments, there is only One that should get the credit…Jesus!
God uses many people to speak to His children, and He blesses each of them with His Word to reach the hearts of those He called, however they were never meant to take His place. Every person that God uses is to set the table for God’s children to have a personal relationship with Him. When we step into the trap where we admire the messenger, instead of Jesus, we prevent ourselves from fully walking in the blessing of having a personal relationship with Christ!
When God gives you a Word to share, obey, but always remember it is not about you, but God. We are never to become another person’s earpiece with God. So should we also never depend on another person to be our earpiece from God. We can hear for ourselves. God-ordained messages are delivered to us to comfort, support and encourage us, but we should never forget where it comes from…God.
Romans, chapter 1 warns against the danger of when we worship anyone or anything else apart from God. Verse 25 reads, “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator, who is forever praised. Amen.” (NIV)
God is the Author of every life story that is being written—yours, as well as mine. Each one of us is merely the pen in His hand that He uses to write His story through our lives. Without his labour, skills and wits nothing will be accomplished.
Join me today to make a commitment to God that it is not about us or anyone else, except Him. Let’s not adore the messenger more than the Author, Jesus, who continues to write the greatest Story ever written for each believer’s life.
