Have you ever had a “God-moment”? It’s that moment when you either felt or experienced something where you just knew it must have been God. You either encountered someone that made you feel like you were having a coffee with Your Daddy God as His peace surrounded your heart. Or maybe you, at one point, discovered a piece of God inside of you that you just knew whatever you just did was not you, but Him.

God is so big and mighty, He is too amazing to be found in His total greatness in each person. But each of us have something, a piece of Him, inside of us that provides a reflection of Him. His diversity is seen in the diversity of us, each having something different that makes us unique and special yet making us in His image.

In a similar way, God does not only have one name but many, each displaying a different part of His character. God’s Name reveals to us Who He is to us. He is our Daddy God (Abba). He is our Provider (Yahweh Yireh). He is our Almighty God, Creator (Elohim). He is the One who always sees us (El Roi). He is our Peace (Yahweh Shalom). His is alive (El Chai). He is our Banner (Yahweh Nissi). He is our Healer (Yahweh Rophe). He is always with us (Yahweh Shammah). And there are many more.

When you need healing, call on God as Yahweh Rophe. That is who He is and He must stay true to Himself. When you feel rejected, call on Abba and receive your acceptance from Him. When you are alone and in need of someone, call on El Roi and Yahweh Shammah as He sees you and He is always with you. Let Him reveal His presence to you in your moments of loneliness. When you are facing challenges of lack, call on Yahweh Yireh and wait on the Lord’s provision. He is your Shepherd and will provide for you in your every need. When you are in a storm, invite Yahweh Shalom and let His peace surround your heart and mind.

God’s being is also found in His promises. God’s promises are not something set apart from Him but they are Him. When God makes a promise to us in His Word, He commits Himself to it. Each promise of God corresponds with who He is and He cannot break His promises to you and me because that would mean that He goes against who He is. That can never happen.

As we can see God’s promises are also found in His Names and He can never go back on what He says or against who He is.

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19 NIV)

There is so much richness in God’s Name and He is merely an utter away. Call on Him as you need Him and allow Him to deepen your relationship with Him as he reveals Himself to you in new ways.
