I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15:5 NKJV)

This verse explains and emphasises to us who we are already in Christ—not who we should try to be or could be, but who we are…”you are the branches”. We did not obtain this position by any effort on our part, but because of who He is—the Vine. If you look at any vineyard, the vine exists before the branch, the branch flows automatically from the vine. What does that tell us about our position in Christ—He was there first and because of who He is, we have become who He meant for us to be—His branches.

All that is left for us is to abide in Him. For as long as we remain close to Him, He can be our true Vine. The best way to achieve this is to be conscious of who we are in Him. We are accepted because we are in Christ (Ephesians 1). Since the day we accepted Him as our Saviour, we became part of Him and can now walk in the knowing that we are accepted in Christ. God loves us as His own because of our position in Christ. When He looks at us, He sees us through the cross, perfectly cleansed by the blood of His precious, beloved Son.

Do not let the enemy succeed in taking your focus off your position and placing it on your condition. Life can through many conditions at us—financial lack, health problems, relationship turmoil, work challenges and many more, but none of that can change our position in Christ. The enemy knows that if he can get your focus off your position of righteousness in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21), you forget about the power you possess as His heir as you are sitting in the heavenly places with Him. The enemy knows that when your focus is on your position in Christ, you can change any condition you are facing as you allow God to bear His fruit through you.

When you are conscious of your position in Christ, you can pray and healing will flow, lack with disappear in the abundant supply of God’s prosperity, fear will run from the presence of God’s peace operating through you, no attack from the enemy will stand against your authority in Christ.

The same way the sap of the vine flows through its branches so that it can bear fruit, Christ’s life flows through us so that we can reap the harvest of His grace through our lives. Take a stand from today for your position in Christ and continue to declare, “I am the branch of the Living Vine. His life flows through me and I am reaping a harvest of His prosperity, health, peace, abundant supply and blessing through my life every day.”
